Jim and Bonnie Grant are the agents that run Get Help With Insurance, Inc.
Jim is from the East side Of Pennsylvania and Bonnie is from the west side of Pennsylvania. We met in Texas in October 1996. We got married on February 6, 1999 at Cavatores Restaurant. We had the wedding before the Italian restaurant opened! It was Italian Romantic. We loved being married in an Italian Restaurant.
The agency opened up in 2009 by Bonnie.
Jim was the state Claims Manager of the Homeowner Claims Department with Farmers insurance for many years. He finally joined Bonnie in 2010.
In 2026, the agency celebrated 17 years in business helping the wonderful people throughout Nevada.

For 11 years and 1 month, our agency was a Farmers Insurance agency.
During that time, we learned a tremendous amount about insurance, how policies work, how insurance companies price risk, and—most importantly—how much goes into finding the right coverage.
Then, in May 2020, we made a big decision.
We stopped drinking the Kool-Aid.
We became an independent insurance agency.
Why? Because we wanted to do more for our customers.

Why? Because we wanted to do more for our customers.
When you represent only one insurance company, you have only one companies products to show. You can increase or decrease coverage. We didn’t think reducing coverage to keep a client ours was safe for the customer. Every insurance company has its own way of evaluating risk and pricing policies. Companies look at claims, loss runs, underwriting guidelines, and many other factors when determining what they will insure and what they will charge.
That’s where our experience makes a difference.

Who is Jim Grant, Agent
Jim Grant started out in insurance when he became a Claims Adjuster with Progressive Insurance in Houston, TX. He was head-hunted to become the State Claims Manager of Arizona with Farmers Insurance. Jim managed the Farmers Insurance Homeowners Claims Department for half the state of Arizona. He improved the managing of the Claims Department so well, Farmers moved us here to Henderson, NV in 2006 so that he can make sure the Homeowners Claims Department can run as efficient as Arizona did. In Nevada, Jim managed the whole state as the state Claims Manager of the Homeowner Claims Department with Farmers insurance for many years. Jim finally joined Bonnie in 2010.
Who is Bonnie Grant, Agent
Bonnie has a long resume. She worked in a lot of fields. During her first marriage she moved a lot so her employers had to change with the moves. I used to teach kids how to exercise. I was a financial planner. I was a tax preparer. I ran a gym.
Then I settled down.
I was a Mortgage banker for General Electric Finance, Sofi and then later a Mortgage Banker with Wells Fargo bank in Apache Junction, AZ. When Jim got promoted to become the State Claims Manager of the state of Nevada, we moved from AZ to NV. I had to make another change. I was tired of changing jobs. I sat down and looked at my life and decided who I was. During the financial crash of 2008-9, Bonnie left the mortgage industry. She looked inward at her life and thought if she became an Insurance Agent she could build a career that was long lasting. Here is why…
Why did Bonnie start the agency?
Bonnie was in a near-fatal accident when a dump truck ran a red light on her way to college when she was 20 years old in 1983 in Youngwood, PA. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks and 2 hours. The man that hit me was drunk. He killed someone else a year later. I had a lot of injuries. I was grateful to the insurance company and the attorney my parents hired. They paid for all of the injuries and still do because PA was a no-fault state at that time. Here is what is cool to me. I was one of five people who the insurance company gave lifetime benefits to. The other 4 people died within a year. I am still alive 43.5 years later in 2026! My injuries will be paid for the rest of my life as long as they are related to the original injuries. I have a lot of bulging discs, experienced a brain concussion and a few other injuries. I am still surviving and still I celebrate life every 2/21/1983 at 12:08 pm. ET another year of life to live! I believe I survived because I really was a body builder in my teens. I loved exercising. We used to hang out in the gym. Those we the days.
Helping others get insurance became my driving story. That is why we started the agency. It helped me survive and live a good life. Why not help others.
About Farmers Insurance - Bonnie Grant
I got licensed in Property & Casualty and Life and Health in 2009. I joined Farmers Insurance in Henderson, NV. I called my agency Farmers Insurance – Bonnie Grant.
Jim joined me in 2010 and we built the agency to be a very large agency.
Farmers helped me build the agency and then one day, Jim and I felt like there was something missing. I had always wanted to be bigger in Business Insurance. There was a lot of competition in the personal lines market.
We researched and researched and noticed that our customers were cancelling their insurance and moving to other agents that were independent.
Welcome to Get Help With Insurance, Inc.
We started our independent agency in May 2020 and chose the name Get Help With Insurance, Inc.
Because when you need insurance, you don’t need someone who simply wants to sell you a policy.
You need someone who can help and cares that you will get what you need, can afford and feel comfortable in protecting what you built. That is important.
Bonnie is now an Ambassador With Alignable.com and she holds business events with local business owners to help business owners connect with other business owners on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm at Sticks Tavern, 203 S Water Street, Henderson, NV 89015.
She was also recognized as an Influential Women.
On a more family touch-- my child is my Furbaby--Mollie
I was fearful that if I had children, my child would not be healthy. Plus I was told I would be in bed for 18 months if I had a child due to my back injuries. I was really scared of having a child that would not be healthy. That is not fair to anyone.
So instead of having children, we had fur babies instead. Mollie is our current furbaby. She is a Cattledog. Mollie was born in 2018 and she is our Mollie-girl. She loves bones, balls, and buffalo strips.
Jim and I live and work together because we love one another. It is just easier to work together because we both like insurance. We take rides on the atv. We work out in the gym as much as we can and we love playing pool when we get home.
We enjoy cooking too.
